FEW LESSONS WE LEARN FROM RECENT DELHI GANGRAPE TRAGEDY

1. Ensure proper sex education to every child in school level and family level

2. Nurture in them respect towards all human beings, especially to women

   3. Allow them to mingle with the opposite sex, so that their misconceptions, if any, may change

   4. Promote mixed school system, so that they may learn good communication and behavioral skills towards the opposite sex

5. Women may avoid traveling at night, especially after 10.00 pm

  6. If necessary to travel, ask a dependable adult male to accompany you

  7. Memorize the phone numbers of your guardian, police control room and women helpline

  8. Be very moderate and decent in your dressing; avoid skin-tight and other modern dresses that may provoke others

  9. Avoid taking lifts from strangers and never get into a vehicle that is not meant for public transport

  10. Even if someone teases you, just try to avoid; never get into an argument with them. Protest only if you are in a safe public place; else, seek the help of police immediately

Some of these points may seem to be male chauvinistic and orthodox, but these are very practical until the attitude of many in our society changes.
